POSITION: Summer Camp Junior Counselor
DATE: February 22, 2012

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 42 hours/week
START/END DATES: 28 June till 3 August 2012 (Five+ Weeks)
SALARY: $7.25- $8.00/hour
NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 8
Basic Function of Position:
- Directs group of 12 children in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children’ interaction with one another.
- Provides day-to-day support in all areas and promotes teamwork to deliver a safe and quality program
- Executes age-appropriate activities and modifies accordingly for improvement
- Communicates with Camp Director and General Manager (or his/her designee) on all matters
- Actively participates in all planned activities, including daily swimming
- Professional in all interactions with youth, staff, and the general community
- Proactive in risk management and reports any accident to proper camp management
- Safeguards camp equipment and supplies, making sure that they are in a safe condition whenever they are being used and properly stored
- Maintains a positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn
- Serves the well-being of campers and understands the needs of expatriate children
- Provides appropriate guidance of youth
Required Experience:
- One year experience in youth recreation capacity, specifically camp programs
- Risk management experience in childcare, aquatic, and excursion settings
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work under pressure with experience in multi-cultural environments
- Preferred: Certified US Life guard, CPR, First Aid,
Language:
- Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in English

SALARY: $8.00- $9.00/hour

Basic Function of Position:
Directs group of 12 children in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children’ interaction with one another.
Provides operational and logistical support as needed (ie attendance, excursions, reports, sourcing supplies, setup, inventory, special community events)
Assists in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that are appealing and fun
Communicates with Camp Director and General Manager (or his/her designee) on all matters
Actively participates in all planned activities including daily swimming
Serves as a model leader to youth and staff by demonstrating a high level or professionalism and leadership
Proactive in risk management and reports any accident to proper camp management
Safeguards camp equipment and supplies, making sure that they are in a safe condition whenever they are being used and properly stored
Maintains a positive and flexible attitude when faced with challenges
Serves the well-being of campers and understands the needs of expatriate children
Provides appropriate guidance to youth and assists staff in guidance practices.
Required Experience:
Two years or more experience in youth recreation capacity, specifically camp programs
Ability to support and guide other staff
Risk management experience in childcare, aquatic, and excursion settings
Excellent communication skills
Able to work under pressure with experience in multi-cultural environments
Administration experience
Preferred: Certified US Life guard, CPR, First Aid,
Language:
Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in English
