The Columbia Alumni Association of Beijing is pleased to invite alums to to a curated tour of dissident artist Ai Weiwei’s first solo exhibit in China since being banned in 2011. We will visit Magician Space, there Tang Contemporary Art Center<span style="font-family: arial, this web helvetica,sans-serif;”>, and Galleria Continua, all located in the 798 Art District. This is a splendid opportunity to learn from leading gallerists about this controversial artist and his works in the company of fellow Columbians. Followed by an optional dinner at Liang Shi (良适小食).
Date: Sunday, August 2, 3:45-6 p.m.

Details:
Attendance is free and each Columbia alum may bring one non-alum guest. The size of the group is limited and you must have a reservation to attend. We will meet at UCCA at 3:45 and proceed to Magician Space. From there we’ll go to sister galleries Tang and Continua. We will head to the restaurant, which is located to the left of UCCA, at 6 p.m. Dinner will be a set menu, around CNY 120 per person not including beverage, payable at the venue.

Call for Startups in the Columbia Alumni Network to Attend the OTEC Entrepreneurship Clinic

The Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (OTEC) is an event platform for entrepreneurs. It provides funding to startups and works with local government agencies, here
investment funds, and internationally-minded startup communities to foster a startup ecosystem for foreign-educated entrepreneurs in Beijing. Columbia Alumni Association of Beijing is joining OTEC’s 2015 Entrepreneurship Clinic event and calling for alumni entrepreneurs to come mingle with startups and alumni of other universities.
